I’m so excited to be part of Margaret River Region Open Studios this September! 🎨🦜

My studio, “The Aviary” – Studio No. 87 in the Event Guide, will be open from 12–27 September, 10am–4pm, and I’d love to welcome you in.

I have always been fascinated by Australia’s beautiful and diverse birdlife, and I love bringing these incredible birds to life through my oil paintings. Each painting is about more than capturing feathers, colour and form — I want to capture the individual character, spirit and personality that makes each bird so special.

There’s an even more meaningful part to my work: a portion from every original painting sold is donated to BirdLife Australia, helping support the protection and conservation of the birds that inspire me every day. ❤️

Margaret River Region Open Studios 2026.

Some weekends leave a lasting impression, and this was one of them.

The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival was filled with inspiring conversations, creativity, and a wonderful sense of community. One of the highlights for me was standing in front of my Visual Stories Competition entry, “Sitting Pretty“, and having my photo taken with the legendary actor and author Bryan Brown. It was a surreal and memorable moment that I’ll treasure for a long time.

I’m so grateful to have been part of a festival that celebrates the power of storytelling in all its forms. Weekends like this remind me why stories—and the people who share them—matter so much.

This year a record 168 artists will be participating in the largest Open Studio event in Australia, possibly the Southern Hemisphere. This is a fabulous opportunity to meet the artists in their creative space and discover what drives their passions.

The conversion of our old rustic stables into my new artist studio is a dream come true! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would one day have my very own dedicated creative space (40 square meters) to splash paint, display my Birdlife artworks and share my oil painting techniques with like minded creative enthusiasts.

It has been an all consuming project under the supervision of our totally domesticated rescue Sheep (yes that is her name) who together with her Alpaca friends enthusiastically greet all guests to our property.
