The sideways glance, regal distinctive plumage and ability to so beautifully compliment her surroundings  is what attracted me to paint this striking female Red Tailed Black Cockatoo.   I have affectionately called her “Nelly”.

If you look closely you can see she is covered in love hearts – which seems to portray her lovely demeanour.

Nelly was one of 10 finalists from 89  Western Australian entries in the prestigious 2017 Clifton Art Prize (Asia Pacific).   Nelly has also been a finalist in the 2017 Midwest Art Prize – Geraldton.
